Philipp Blom’s career spans best-selling historical works, hosting a radio show and a podcast, writing novels, curating exhibitions, and writing and presenting documentary films. As a public speaker, Philipp is regularly invited throughout Europe, as well as in South America, the USA, and Canada. After obtaining a D.Phil. in history at Oxford University, Philipp worked as an editor, translator and foreign correspondent in London, Paris, Los Angeles, and Vienna, where he still lives. Philipp’s research is focussed on historical turning points, from the Little Ice Age to the Enlightenment, and Modernism. But his intellectual interest is not trapped in the past. In his books and podcasts, Philipp also takes the historian’s analytical eye to the future of Europe and the world.
